As a food reviewer, I'm continually on the lookout for unique experiences, and The Coffee Builders surely delivers. What sets it apart are not just the drinks but the entire coffee culture embedded within its walls. Imagine savoring a chocolate pistachio latte or warming up with a golden milk during the winter months, each sip transporting you to a place far removed from the city's hustle. The menu is a celebration of creativity and quality. One standout is the smørrebrød, a Danish-style open-faced sandwich elegantly curated with fresh, vibrant ingredients. Each dish is a testament to the thoughtful approach to presentation, echoing the finesse of an upscale restaurant—something that customer Jennifer Quillin aptly pointed out. However, it’s not just the food that excites; the reviews brim with enthusiasm for the drinks as well, ranging from rich cortados to unique concoctions like the Fire and Ice Kentucky Forward, an iced coffee marvel presented like a cocktail.
But The Coffee Builders is not merely about the taste. It's also about the sense of community fostered within its walls. Customers like Adam Alexander have praised the staff for their exceptional service and genuine approach. The interaction goes beyond simply serving coffee; it's about sharing a passion for great brews and fostering connections. The most beautiful and unique coffee shop in Phoenix. A non-descript building hides a hidden gem of beautiful wood architecture. Oh, were you here for the food and coffee? That's fabulous too! Specialty seasonal coffee creations and fresh food in a charming, cozy atmosphere. This is like entering a new world away from the city hustle. Enjoy the shaded patio with a friend and bring your dog, too. Try the chocolate pistachio latte or the golden milk in winter. Iced summer drinks are just as lovely. Oh! And you must try smørrebrød. Danish style open face sandwiches with fresh ingredient combinations. The food presentation is precise and beautiful with the feel of a very upscale restaurant. My hubby said it was too bougie for him, so it's not for everyone. I've had business meetings and taken friends and family for lunch. We've all loved every visit. I did have the chicken sandwich that wasn't for me, but you can't win 'em all. I'm still coming back and bringing friends. Highly recommend for so many reasons.

The most deluxe coffee in my life. I had no idea what to expect but I was so delightfully surprised by my drinks. I tried a cortado that was rich & creamy. Just beautiful. My normal drink anywhere for coffee shops is a dirty chai & this one was flavorful & not too sweet. Latte was strong and rich. I was on vacation so cannot come back but I assure you if the opportunity was mine I would be here frequently. Outside seating was nice but loud due to traffic...don't let that stop you from coming. They have indoor seating available.

Neat lil coffee shop! The outside does not showcase how amazing the interior is. The champagne deviled eggs and Ube waffles were chefs kiss. Def recommend the Bourbon Vanilla Latte!

I was visiting from Lake City, Colorado, and a friend took me to Coffee Builders while I was in Phoenix—definitely a highlight of the trip. I had a regular latte and the steak panini, and both were absolutely spot-on. The latte was smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced—no bitterness, just quality coffee. The steak panini was surprisingly good too—crispy bread, tender meat, and great flavor all around. The vibe inside is clean and modern, with a laid-back atmosphere that makes you want to hang out a while. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. If you’re in Phoenix, this place is a must.

Best mocha ever? This might be my favorite mocha ever. I went to Coffee Builders for the first time. I tried the Dark side Mocha and it was fantastic! You can taste their unique cocoa flavoring. I also got a waffle and it was shaped like the Millennium Falcon. It was delicious. Just the right amount of crisp and perfect taste. Great service to go with the atmosphere and food.

This place was such a hit for me while living in Phoenix for a few months. Whenever I wanted to treat myself to higher quality light food and coffee drinks, I'd pick the coffee builders. Their changing drink options are fun and creative with themes you can check out on their Instagram page. Some of them are pretty sweet, but nothing ever tasted artificial there. All the food I tried there was always very fresh. Indoor seating is a bit tight, but there is a large (mostly covered) patio available as well. There's a larger parking lot behind the building and I never had trouble finding a spot. While the pricing is a little higher than some coffee shops, it is so worth it based on the quality. Staff was always friendly as well and I never felt rushed ordering even if I had questions about menu items.

Very refreshing to go into a coffee shop with an amazing experience. Line out the door 3 minutes before they were really actually “open” and it makes sense. I asked about a drink and they offered a sample right off the bat. I got great conversation with the team and watched the guy in the blue button down/tan hat (manager/owner?) pay attention to what everyone in the lobby had. He was trying to meet the needs of every customer and was crazy genuine about it. Another customer sitting next to me had a cortado and the gent in the blue shirt offered him to try another bean that he had as a cortado because he sensed this was a favorite for the customer. Politely the customer declined, however, this was great to see from a customer service perspective as well as seeing someone genuinely seek to share coffee with another person. Truly, I applaud this shop. My cold brew was great too.

I absolutely loved the Coffee Builders. I ordered the Fire and Ice Kentucky Forward, which is an iced coffee drink with smoke. The presentation blew me away. Like a cocktail, but no alcohol in it. They won an award in the barista competition (photo below). I love the creativity they bring to the coffee drinks. I tried another drink, the Bourbon Vanilla Latte. This time the latte was warm with a vanilla flavor. Both were good but I would order the Fire and Ice next time because you can’t get that anywhere else. The ambience of this coffee shop is fun and reminds me of inside a movie theater. When I visited the theme was romantic comedy movies. Later on they will switch to a Star Wars theme. So cool. This is not your run of the mill coffee shop. Go here for a whole coffee experience. Props to Thomas, the owner, for the concept of Coffee Builders and for creating such a cool interior from his other business next door.
